Run Baildon - Beginners & Improvers Group

Whatever the weather... it’s always time to get running

...but often the hardest part of all is knowing how to get started and joining a running club can be a daunting prospect for many. This is why we have set up a group aimed specifically at the complete beginner, those relatively new to running, those who want to get fitter and those who want to get back into running.

Why should I run?

Running is one of the least expensive and most effective ways to get and stay fit. It offers many benefits such as improved health, weight loss, increased energy and better sleep. After getting started and as your running fitness increases you may even be inspired and motivated to join one of the many popular mass participation charity runs such as the "Race For Life", "Race For All", Great North Run or perhaps even the London marathon! We have helped beginners achieve all of these goals but many just run for enjoyment and fitness.

If you already jog or run then you will realise the benefits of running with a group – it’s easier, more fun and a good way to make new friends. There is even a café for post run refreshment too - some spend longer in there than they do running!

Where and when do we meet?

We run in and around Roberts Park in Baildon where we have a safe and traffic free environment including the park itself, canal towpath, a scenic riverbank trail and woods.

Sessions take place every Saturday morning at 10:00am. Our meeting point is the Bandstand in Roberts Park, Higher Coach Road, Baildon. Free parking is available nearby in the public car park with the round turning circle which is on the right as you travel from Baildon/Shipley after Thompson Lane and just before Titus Salt school on Higher Coach Road, Baildon (BD17 5RH is the nearest postcode).

Why us?

We are an established group led by fully qualified coaches and leaders registered with UK Athletics. Come along and talk to those who’ve already seen the benefits of running with us. We have no upfront charges and allow you to run with no obligation to join until you are sure that we are right for you. When you want to commit you will find that membership brings lots of benefits. If you don't like us we'll help you find other clubs and groups in the area.

Ready?

Just turn up for one or more no-obligation introductory sessions, or for further information please email info@baildonrunners.co.uk.
