Bradford Millenium Way 2017
Baildon Runners entered two teams into the recent Bradford Millennium Relay race, ‘Baildon Bananas’ and ‘Baildon Biscuits’. The teams consisted of 10 runners running each of the 5 legs in pairs with both teams running a strong race overall. Leg 1 runners were faced with rain and fog in humid conditions as the race began at 8am on Sunday morning with the weather improving throughout the day. ‘Baildon Bananas’ finished 9th overall in a total time of 06:30:07, just under 2 minutes faster than Pudsey Pacers who finished in 10th position. This was a great improvement on a 16th place finish in 2016. ‘Baildon Biscuits’ also enjoyed a successful race finishing in 40th position, just over 3 minutes behind ‘Queensbury RC A’. Some PBs were beaten throughout the race including Geoff Perigo beating his best time from 2009 and Linda Carey smashing her previous best by 8 minutes, more evidence of Baildon getting stronger and stronger. Another fine performance by Baildon Runners in a challenging race on the Millennium Way.
